Sofia Fernandez Stenström is a photographer whose work explores the relationship between the body, identity, emotion and place.

Her practice moves between portraiture, fashion and long-term personal projects, with a particular interest in intimacy, human connection and the quiet stories held within the body.

Working intuitively with the people she photographs, Sofia creates images that look beyond appearance. Her approach is attentive to gesture, movement, light and the relationship between the individual and their surroundings.

Her personal projects often develop through sustained encounters and collaborations, particularly in Senegal, where she has built an ongoing body of work exploring identity, belonging, freedom and the ways we understand ourselves through place and experience.

Alongside her personal practice, Sofia works on selected editorial, fashion and portrait commissions, bringing the same sensitivity and visual language to collaborative projects.
